What is a symbol?
The symbol is a powerful sign that stands for an idea or action. It is understandable only to those who know what it means, or which, because of their cultural imprint, can associate the possible meaning. Symbols are rarely associated with a clear statement.
Das Symbol ist ein bildkräftiges Zeichen, das stellvertretend für eine Idee oder eine Handlung steht. Es ist nur denjenigen verständlich, die wissen, was es bedeutet, oder die aufgrund ihrer kulturellen Prägung die mögliche Bedeutung assoziieren können. Symbole sind nur selten mit einer eindeutigen Aussage verknüpft.
